Duluth Grill Needs Your Help, Less Than 30 Hours Left

Duluth Grill-30 hours or less to go.  We now have enough for phase one of the project—an orchard in the middle of the parking lot. But we’re looking to create a rain garden as a separate entity to powerfully reduce runoff right next to the creek where it needs it most. The Duluth Grill is not  the only ones thinking about rain gardens. This is truly a Duluth-wide movement:

1. MN Sea Grant is hosting two rain garden workshops this summer, which will include design, construction, and maintenance. Details here: http://www.seagrant.umn.edu/news/2013/07/24

2. There is also a webpage about rain gardens and other stormwater practices, focusing on how to design them in our area; that website is herehttp://www.lakesuperiorstreams.org/stormwater/toolkit/raingarden.html

3. The Duluth Stream Corps, through Community Action Duluth, has funds to help construct a few rain gardens for residents along stream channels their website and contact info is here: http://www.communityactionduluth.org/streamcorps/index.html

With only a few days left on the campaign, this is a timely story that has Duluth interested. If you’d like to talk to Hartel’s/DBJ, the best contact is:
