Age and Your Cancer Risk

According to American Cancer, Cancer Facts & Figures 2012, “Anyone can develop cancer. Since the risk of being diagnosed with cancer increases with age, most cases occur in adults who are middle aged or older. About 77% of all cancers are diagnosed in persons 55 years of age and older. 

As we all know there are children and young people getting cancer all the time. 

Did you know that according to NCI there are nearly 12 million Americans with cancer that are alive since January of 2008? That is a lot of cancer patients.

Cancer is the second most common death in the United States, exceed only by heart disease which is 1 in 4 deaths.

This year 1,638,910 new cancer cases will be diagnosed.

In 2012, about 577,190 Americans are expected to die of cancer. That is 1,500 people per day according to ACS.
